We booked a surfing lesson through Groupon as two adults with some prior experience (we can stand up on small waves). While the equipment provided was good, the rest of the experience was disappointing. On the day of our lesson, we were placed in a group with two young Spanish-speaking kids (around 6 and 10 years old). The instruktor (understandably) focused entirely on them, speaking mostly in Spanish despite us informing him we only speak English. We got little to no instruction during the session — it felt more like a rental than an actual lesson. If this had been our first surfing lesson ever, we would have left without knowing anything useful. So if you have absolutely no prior experience, we wouldn’t recommend booking here — you simply won’t get what you need to get started. We understand the Groupon deal was cheap, but still expected a basic group lesson that matched our level. If you're thinking of booking here, make sure to ask who will be in your group — the school doesn’t seem to care about matching participants by age or experience.
